
The Product Exchange System is used to control the processes
of: call handling, in-warranty determination, exchange workorder entry,
pick, pack, shipment of replacement unit, receiving of defective unit,
and issuance of dunning notices.
The system handles both finished goods exchange and component
swap in support of in-warranty (or extended warranty) product support
programs. The software features "work queues" to monitor
the activities of the Exchange Desk and Fulfillment Center(s). Each
workorder is tracked as it flows through the stages of fulfillment
(in-pick, pack, shipped) and product return (open, past due 15 days,
past due 30 days, received /closed). Barcode technology is used
to eliminate human error and speed the exchange process in the Fulfillment
Center.
Specialized reports allow data analysis by model, by account,
by product line, by fulfillment center, by repeat exchanges, by
field rejects and inventory levels and turn around performance.
